Inspired by his mother’s childhood stories, Adrian Menghes, the creator of the Butoiul cu Inghetata concept, searched long and tirelessly, far and wide, throughout the Oltenia area, to find out the secrets of how to prepare traditional Romanian ice cream.

Cum-preparam-inghetataHis perseverance paid off and, with the help of Uncle Ion from Valcea, who had been making ice cream for over 60 years, he inventively brought back, among those seeking sunny days of ice cream, a natural delight made in an ice barrel.

The ice cream is prepared by placing the ingredients in a stainless steel cylinder, which is then placed in a barrel, around which ice and salt are added (to speed up the freezing process). The stainless steel cylinder is then rotated manually for approximately 4 hours. After that, the ice cream is stored in a safe place that meets the necessary sanitary and environmental criteria.

The recipes are original and only natural ingredients are used.

We make ice cream from ZERO and manually create the creams needed for flavors, such as pistachio paste, vanilla paste and many others in our assortments. We do not use artificial additives or synthetic essences. Our ice cream is tasty and honest with its tasters.
